A peanut allergy can be life threatening. Even small amounts of peanut can trigger an allergic reaction. Sometimes just touching a peanut or peanut residue off of a surface can trigger a reaction. This is especially dangerous if someone with a peanut allergy casually touches a peanut, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.
